METRO / AUTOBÚS / TRANVÍA

METRO/BUS/TRAM – the Oslo Metro consists of six train lines that all go through the city’s’ downtown areas. Totaling 104 stations, the Metro has 16 underground or indoor stations. The same regulating company that runs Oslo’s Metro (Ruter), also runs its bus and tram systems.
Fares vary according to the number of zones one is traveling through in order to reach his/her destination (e.g. adult fare: 30 NOK for a one zone ride, 90 NOK for a four-zone ride). There are also 7-day tickets (adult fare: 220 NOK for one-zone rides, or 580 NOK for four-zone rides). See the Metro’s website for more fare info and maps for all three public transport options: https://ruter.no
For those already in Oslo and need assistance getting around, travelers can go to the Oslo Central Station (Jernbanetorget) to get more information.
Note: If you are caught travelling without a valid ticket, the fine is NOK 900. If the fine is paid on the spot, the fee is NOK 750.
