Øya Festival (Tøyenparken, Oslo) – this is Oslo’s biggest music festival. In August every year it draws around 60,000 music lovers to Oslo’s east side, where they can enjoy four days of everything from international stars to up-and-coming artists.
The Club Night on Tuesday, with concerts at many small clubs, serves as a warm-up for the four days in the Tøyen Park festival area. Wednesday to Saturday you can hear concerts from three stages in the park. If you need a break, you can try some organic food, or go shopping for records, clothes and cartoons from the stalls and tents. After the festival area is closed, there are Nighttime Øya events in some of Oslo’s clubs. See the event’s website for details: www.oyafestivalen.com
