Viking Ships Museum

Viking Ships Museum (Frederiks Gate 2, Oslo)  — run by the Museum of Cultural History, visitors can view the remains of three ships that carried the Vikings to raids throughout Europe and elsewhere:  the Gokstad, the Oseberg, and the Tune (one of the best-preserved Viking ships found anywhere).   Also displayed are other Viking-era artifacts, like small boats, sledges, a cart with exceptional ornamentation, implements, tools, harness, textiles and household utensils.

Admission:  NOK 60 (adult), NOK 35 (seniors and students), NOK 30 (children under 16), free for children under 6 years.   Hours:  9 am – 6 pm (daily, May-Sept.); 10 am – 4 pm (daily, Oct.-April).
